Idamaria Gomez is an original to the South Florida area. She was raised in Miami, Florida from a very young age and has had the opportunity to work for some of the many great healthcare facilities located throughout our state. Her experience in the field of neonatal and pediatric medicine provides her with a vast array of clinical expertise utilized in making critical decisions at very important times involving the care of her patients. Ms. Gomez enjoys attending high-risk deliveries and the positive outcome when she sees the smile on the many family members faces. Ms. Gomez has enjoyed training in both Level II and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Being a valuable member of the South Dade Neonatology Team Ms. Gomez is able to utilize her vast clinical experience from the third largest teaching institution in the United States, Jackson Memorial Health System, where she has had exposure to  experience of a world wide population.  

Idamaria Gomez focus involving her clinical research is specific to breast feeding advocacy for the new mother and the developmental care specific to the infant.

A South Florida native and professed 'Gator Fan' her personal interestes include boating, diving, hiking or anything relating  to the South Florida Keys and the underwater habitat where she enjoys diving the great coral reefs located throughout the Biscayne Bay National Park area. 

Her favorite past time is the exchange of ideas based on the most recent articles from the NICU field which focuses on the newest and most innovative topics involving care of the high-risk newborn and the overall neonatal journey. Ms. Gomez is a board certified nurse practitioner specializing in  neonatal care and is a valuable member of the South Dade Neonatology Team.
