BIO

Dr. Prieto joined South Dade Neonatology in 2003 and works as a neonatologist primarily at Miami Children’s Hospital, Mercy Hospital and Kendall Regional Medical Center. She has also served as the Medical Director of the High Risk Neonatal Follow Up Clinic at Miami Children’s Hospital and Parkway Hospital providing care to a high risk population of graduates from various Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the community. Dr. Prieto graduated from the University of Malaga, School of Medicine in Spain. She completed her Pediatric Residency training at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, affiliated to Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed fellowship training in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York. Her academic appointments began in 1993 when she joined the Faculty Department at Albert Einstein College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology. Presently she has an appointment as a voluntary faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Florida International University, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Prieto is a Regional Trainer of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and an Instructor of the STABLE Program (Post-Resuscitation / Pre-Transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants). She is a Certified Professional in HealthCare Management by McKesson Health Solutions. Dr. Prieto's professional interests focus on parental discharge readiness, resource utilization within a multicultural community and associated neurodevelopmental outcome in premature infants.
