Dr. Lebischak’s 26 year career caring for babies has been in both the private and university settings. A native of the New England area Dr. H. Carol Lebischak grew up knowing that one day she would not only become a Physician but that she would go on to specialize in the care of newborn infants. Her destiny to work as a Neonatologist started as a 5 pound preterm baby, born with a heart problem. Treated at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for her heart problem, she found herself working at the hospital 40 years later.

Dr. Lebiscak attended medical school abroad at the Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Her love grew for the population and she knew that one day she would return to practice medicine in the United States. She maintained her internship in Pediatrics at the University MIami School of Medicine and shortly thereafter returned to her family in Pennsylvania to complete her residency in Pediatrics at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.  The final leg of her journey would take place during her fellowship in neonatology at the prestigious Temple University Hospital St Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.

She had the fortune of working for the Division of Neonatology at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia when it was ranked # 1 for neonatal care by US News & World Report. Prior to working at there, Dr. Lebischak spent 12 years in private practice. At this stage in her career, she enjoys teaching families new things about their newborns and educating staff to help optimize the parents hospital stay.

Dr. Lebischak or "Carol" as she prefers to be called by  the South Dade Neonatology family is well known for her educational background and love of teaching regarding her clinical team.  She enjoys spending time with the NICU nurses and exchanging a variety of ideas involving evidenced based medicine.  She is committed to the newest and most innovative methodologies regarding progressive care in the NICU setting.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, section of Perinatal Medicine and a member of the Philadelphia Perinatal Society. Dr. Lebischak recently returned to South Florida where she resides in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She considers traveling abroad to be one of her favorite things to do because she enjoys seeing how different cultures live and interact in and around the world. She is a member of a local bike club where she finds time to cycle and considers herself to be an accomplished individual in this sport.

Raised in South Florida, Dr. Lebischak has returned to her roots for the sunset years of her career. Her future plans include travel to Europe but she enjoys making the greater South Florida area the place that she calls home.
