BIO
Dr. Andrew Kairalla is a Florida native who graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 1972. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina where he was valedictorian of his graduating class. He completed a residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He is board-certified in general pediatrics and in neonatology.
Dr. Kairalla currently serves as Medical Director of Neonatology at Baptist Children’s Hospital in Miami FL, and is the Chairman of the Baptist Hospital Performance Improvement Steering Council. He is a member and past-president of the Florida Society of Neonatologists. He is the creator and webmaster of the FSN web site (www.fsneo.org), and publishes a monthly review of current topics in neonatology called NeoNotes. In addition to his clinical practice of Neonatology, Dr Kairalla works as a Medical Director for Children’s Medical Services in South Florida, and as Chief Quality Officer for the Children’s Services Division of Sheridan Healthcare.
