bio

Clara Fregeolle was born in Toronto, Canada and lived in Miami for most of her life. She has nearly 30 years experience in Neonatology and belongs to the Florida Neonatal Nurses Association and the Academy of Neonatal Nursing.  While working with Miami Neonatal Specialists for 18 years at Miami Children’s Hospital NICU  she was  involved with multiple medication trials and taught residents and nurses.

Over the past 18 years Clara has enjoyed practicing in the field of Neonatology throughout South Florida. She spent many years as a Neonatal ICU nurse at Miami Children's Hospital. She acted as Charge Nurse, precepted new employees into the NICU while also teaching hemofiltration and peritoneal dialysis. She has that special touch and considered very proficient in PIV starts. She also planned and executed the successful Neonatal Advanced Life Support program for MCH.

As her career progressed she became a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in the early 1990's.  She has precepted multiple Neonatal Nurse Practitioners for the University of Florida and the University of Alabama. Ms. Fregeolle enjoys practicing at local area healthcare facilities at the NICU. Clara particularly finds great reward in the educational portion of her field. She spends much of her time educating nursing staff on the newest topics on Neonatal medicine. She enjoys being able to relay information that might change the lives of not just the healthcare provider but most importantly the child.

South Dade Neonatology considers Clara an asset to the team. Many parents of her patients consistently comment on her ability to help them understand the process that their child is experiencing. Clara always takes the time to educate the parents and the family members so that when they leave the hospital and arrive at home they are both confident and comfortable with their new arrival.
