BIO

Dr. Carlos Lopez recently joined the South Dade Neonatology Family.  A native South Floridian Dr. Lopez completed his medical school training at the Universidad Central del Este (UCA) in the Dominican Republic.  He then went on to be a Volunteer Resident at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital and completed his Pediatric residency at Miami Children’s Hospital.  Dr. Lopez would finish his clinical experience at the New York Presbyterian Medical Center in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine in the Level III setting.  He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and has completed research regarding ‘The use of Nebulized Furosemide to Improve Lung Mechanics in Preterm Infants, & “Pulse vs. continuous Dexamethasone Therapy for Neonatal Lung Disease.”  His professional affiliations include the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Lopez has publications that also include “Differential diagnosis of neonatal Facial asymmetry”.

Dr Lopez enjoys a variety of sports, and is a long time Miami Dolphins fan. He loves to fish in fishing tournaments.
